Echoes From The Tomb.

 A Scratchy Prayer.

Now I lay on my new Futon,
Down to sleep.
And I pray to god,
My butt don’t sink.

Goodnight little ones… Uncle Scratch.

 Waiting For The Ferryman.

Here recently I have noticed more than a few people around me that seem to enjoy spending all of their time looking over their shoulders at the world behind them. I have even noticed a few of those signs in the writings of some here lately on the Stream. Someone is working against them in secret, someone wants them to fail! (fail at what I’m not exactly sure.) the world is out to silence and inevitably get them. There is a fellow that lives here in the apartment complex where I live, he’s lived here for almost a year now and no one that I have talked to (save the manager.) even knows what his name is. I see him go to the mail box and he even walks in a very guarded manner, eyes always darting in every direction trying to see everything around him all at once, very cautious indeed, and heaven help the fool that tries to say “Good Morning” to him, NOOOO! Not GOOD MORNING!! Sheesh! You would think that someone killed his dog or something. There is no time for good Mornings! there is no time for the frivolous exchange of pleasantries! there are conspiracies afoot man! Don’t you see? The enemy is everywhere! the world is a dangerous place don’t you see man?? Can’t you see the sky falling around you?? Good god!! Okay. Okay. I’m sure you get the picture, there are even a few blogs here on the stream that seem to carry this tone with them, the forces of the stream are holding them back and keeping them from reaching their full potential by not sufficiently promoting their work. Well first of all it isn’t pioneer’s job to promote your work, that’s your fucking job. And believe it or not, not everyone is out to get you, we all have our own problems to deal with. I don’t understand people and their little personality quirks, and you know what? I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I probably never will, and I’m okay with that. Me personally I don’t think that I could spend all of my time worrying and wondering about when the guy in the black robe is going to show up at my door or when the other shoe is going to drop. For once I wish these people would keep moving towards the future with the rest of us, instead of wondering what’s coming up behind them to bite them on the ass. There actually is power in positive thinking, I wish they would try it sometime.

Stay safe this week my friends, peace and love to you all.. Scratch.

 THE "X" PAGE ( EDITION #7.)

Welcome to the "X" page..

THE ROAD TO REDEMPTION.

When I got home from work yesterday afternoon I was trying to write my intro for the next X page and wasn’t getting anywhere with it. So I decided to go to the Fandango Casino for dinner, and wouldn’t you know it I see this guy that looked oddly familiar. I couldn’t place him at first but the way he seemed to recognize me right away made me uncomfortable to say the least. As he drew closer to the part of the casino where I was waiting to be seated in the Café a name began to stir in my head. “Ritchie Grubbs” we used to call him “Grubbie” (Among other things.) as I recall he used to run in a lot of the same circles that I did and we’d ran into each other a few times when I was out and about partying with my buds. Grubbie had a nasty reputation for being an obnoxious user, He shot his mouth off a lot, never paid for a round of drinks in all of the time that any of us had known him, borrowed money, (not from me.) and never paid it back and never bothered to try to smooth over the rough spots that he created for himself by being an asshole to everybody. Needless to say he quickly wore out his welcome and nobody wanted anything more to do with him, and he conveniently disappeared. Thankfully, I have a pretty good memory when it comes to peoples names and faces, and this guy made a bad enough impression on me to quickly bring both face and name boiling to the surface. As he got closer I could see that the face was more weathered now, and there were definite signs of alcoholism. He asked me first thing if I remembered him, I almost said no, But I Told him that I did, he said that he’d ran into a few of the guys that were still around and that they all remembered but wanted nothing to do with him. He then told me that he had no clue as to why people were being rude to him and I almost fell from my chair. As always I didn’t sugar coat the truth, “Ritchie, you were an asshole to us.” after a brief discussion he got up and left the way he came in, alone and more than likely Broke, guys like Grubbie don’t get it. You really do reap what you sow, you sow bad seeds, you get a bad harvest, karma always finds a way to show us (usually in hindsight) what can happen down the road if you abuse your relationships with other people, if they are a forgiving type (Many aren’t.) you may find the going a bit easier, but usually you end up with a lot of doors getting slammed in your face, and your left to your own devices out in the cold with a monster of your own making. Little things DO count, learn to atone for your mistakes early in life, learn to tell people that try to help you that you are thankful for them, and remember that Karma doesn’t suffer fools, and if you walk on people to get to where you are going you may very well be alone when you get there. The Road to Redemption is quite long indeed, and no place to get stranded.

DRINKING FROM THE STREAM..

Well I read this morning over at Peachey’s blog- (Ain’t Life Peachy.) that she has been getting harassed by an obnoxious thug of a neighbor. If anyone has dealt with this type of abuse before in a small town, (Remember that Peachy lives in a rather small rural community.) please go to her blog and offer your support, obnoxious neighbors, especially ones with a criminal record can be difficult to deal with. Sounds like the Royal Canadian mounted Police need to put this guy back behind bars. Lets let our girl Peachy know that she’s not alone in this.

Over at Squash’s blog (When your Brain turns to Squash.) seems the ol Squash man has run into the age old stereo type that all men can fix things.Well guess what Squash ol buddy? You are not alone! Although I am pretty fair at swinging a sledge hammer at unsuspecting sofas, many things in the realm of house hold repairs, leave me bouncing my head off of the walls.Like fixing or installing vertical blinds.. Hated it! Or repairing a dripping faucet.. Grrrrrrrrrr.. Despise it! And repairing anything that has to do with electricity? Forget about that! I can however, still use a phone and it usually doesn’t take me long to decide that these are all things That Plumbers, electricians and carpenters are paid for. Leave it to the pro’s, I like my sanity too much.

Flower lovers rejoice!! Now Normally that wouldn’t be me, but When I see them in person I melt, Flowers smell sooo good I just wanna break out the salt shaker and- yeah well okay so I’m not a huge flower guy but they do brighten up a yard a lot, and Kitcat over at the “Just Being Me,” blog has posted some pictures of Flowers from her own yard that are quite beautiful, please feel free to take a peek.. Salt shaker’s optional.

THE NEW BLOG SHOUTOUT.

There are more than a few new blogs that are worthy of a shout out, so I will attempt to shout out to at least two each week from now on, the first new blog that I will give mention to is from the mother of our very own media darling Schree! Our girls mom’s blog is called “A Journey Into My Thoughts.” by Princesstaylor. Please join me in making her feel welcome.the second blog that I would like to mention I’ve noticed that a few of you have already book marked its called “Scotch, Swords and Beer,” by Evan The Techie, I’m guessing that this will be one to watch in the near future and will become a real mover and shaker on the Stream very soon. Well see you next week for Jello kids! Laters…

THE HUMAN RACE.. (A SUMMER REPOST)

You hear the sirens, wet tires scream,
Just down the street, like an echoing dream.
A shot in the dark, in another place,
It seems we are losing, this human race.

For an argument settled, will come to blows,
And for patience lacking, The blood will flow.
For to say one is sorry, is perceived as the weak,
For the strong and the violent, with their deeds they will speak.

How have we survived? Here all in one space,
We just go on fighting, and running in place.
And somehow we’re all different, and yet still the same,
And life keeps on going, as we all play the game.

 Reflection.

Just some reflective thoughts from my week..

On Monday I started out feeling good.. but I got over it..

I tried to Teach a new mexican fellow that didn't speak or understand english that mixing cold water with 1500 degree molton aluminum was a bad idea, he didn't understand what I told him.. so I showed him.. the holding pot spit hot liquid metal twenty feet into the air.. he understood..

I saw a young janitor forget to set the parking brake on a forklift, and when he got off it, it rolled out the door and across the parking lot. It rolled thirty feet before he saw it and started to run after it, he finally caught up with it in the middle of a field.. the four people that saw it happen failed to attempt to help him catch it.. we were laughing too hard..

tuesday and wednesday were rather uneventful and I don't want to even think about tham.. I am just grateful to be home and in the company of good friends.
