Echoes From The Tomb.

 Swimming With Bullies

When I first jumped into my little boat here and started paddling down this Stream way back in September 2005, there were many things about this wonderful place that appealed to me, It was fresh and still reasonably new. And it didn’t have the population then that it does now, so people seemed more accessible, it was small and friendships formed quickly. But here it is almost two years later and there is still one dark mainstay here that just won’t ever die it seems, Blog bullies. Or here lately Chatroom bullies, they unlike a real bully however, have the one thing going here that gives them supreme confidence, anonymity. They sit behind their computer Screens, taking shots at whom ever they please, extracting extreme pleasure by belittling, berating, or just plain ol badgering whoever dares to wander into their path. I’m not a psychologist, I’m obviously not a therapist, and I really don’t get it, seeing as how I have never allowed myself to be a victim of such tactics. But it seems to me from what I gather the whole bullying thing seems to boil down to one thing that all bullies either in real life, or on the internet seem to crave so vehemently, and that is Attention.

And it seems like here in the Chatroom, that they will go to extremes to get it, often resorting to name calling and threatening behavior, and the more that you try to ignore them, the more obnoxious the behavior becomes. Many times I suspect that there is alcohol involved, usually that’s easy to spot when the words on the screen just sort of stumble over each other. So what’s the deal? How do you handle a bully? Others people have their own ways.. But I think the best way to handle this kind of thing is by showing the bully that you aren’t going to back down and do not take being threatened lightly. If you feel that someone is abusing you here.. REPORT THEM! threatening people even on the internet is a crime, and should not be taken lightly. Letting it slide will only allow the problem to escalate. Many times these people are dealing with some difficult emotional issues, and a place like a chatroom or a blog, offers them a perfect environment to vent their hostilities, and more than likely, they have no real voice in their personal lives with which to be heard, so they compensate by doing it here. Finally, its only when we refuse to be intimidated by their threats and name calling, that we take away their power, power that they never really had in the first place.. I don’t know.. It makes sense to me.

Have a great Sunday my friends.

 Almost Time.

Though it may not seem like much of a big deal to some people, to me it’s a personal milestone. Today marks one whole year of Sobriety for me. I have come to learn a few things in the past year that have become some recent truths for me now.

#1 - I like living in the world Sober.

#2 - Living in a sober world I have found life in the past twelve months to be less complicated.

#3 - Although I still have my moments, for the most part I am more understanding of people now.

#4 - I am Less temperamental now.

#5 - I like solving my problems rationally, rather than looking for answers in the bottom of a bottle.

#6 - I think God likes me better sober, we seem to be talking more.

#7 - I don’t get insomnia hardly at all anymore.

#8 - (The most important one of all) I have finally made peace with myself.

Hope to see everyone at the Blog hop later tonight.. Peace out my brothers and sisters. I love ya’s!!

 No...Honestly..

I got this from a friend at work and I thought and I would share it with you. makes sense to me, and accurately sums up what I think of lawyers.

lawyers should never ask a southern grandma a question if they aren’t prepared for the answer.

in a trial, a southern small town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grand motherly, elderly woman to the stand. he approached her and asked
“Mrs. Jones, do you know me?”

she responded, “Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I’ve known you since you were a Young boy, and frankly, you’ve been a big disappointment to me. you lie, you cheat on you wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. you think you’re a big shot when you haven’t
the brains to realize you will never amount to anything more than a two bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.”

The lawyer was stunned! not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, “Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?”

She again answered, “Why yes, I do, I’ve known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He’s lazy, bigoted and he has a drinking problem. He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. one of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.”

The defense attorney almost died.

The Judge asked both counselors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice said, “if either of you two idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you to the electric chair.”

Hope everyone is having a great week and hope to see you all Friday night.

 Deliberate Monster.

As I was waking up this morning I noticed that I’d fallen asleep with the Television on again, and what was the first thing that I saw when I woke up this morning? The face of John Evander Couey. Now, for those of you who may not recognize that name, I will attempt to enlighten you, John Evander Couey is one of those actual walking talking monsters that you hear a few of us concerned Streamers talk about on occasion. You see, John Evander Couey is the piece of shit that kidnapped, raped and proceeded to bury alive a Nine year old girl in Florida. Well the nine year old child’s name was Jessica Lunsford, who was staying in a trailer with her grandmother and her father where Couey had snatched her from. No, I won’t go into details, that’s CNN’s job, Couey was found guilty on all charges and will more than likely get the death penalty, but the question that haunts me about this case and others like it, is this really Justice for nine year old Jessica Lunsford? Couey will more than likely get the death penalty for his crimes, and will more than likely languish on death row for two or three years while his dirt bag attorney’s file endless miles of appeals. And while this is going on, might I ask, what about Couey’s two roommate’s?, who knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it? Well apparently law and justice have little to do with one another these days, otherwise Couey and his two roomies would all three have been sitting in a court room facing the same charges, and meanwhile what about real Justice? I am not sure there is anything that could be physically done to give Jessica REAL justice, but for the sake of argument what say we all Pick a prison.. Hell ANY prison, in the United States, preferably the worst prison in the U.S.A. lets take all three of these assholes and throw them all into general population, while they’re waiting for their appeals, hey.. That may not be real justice either, but in this Dragons opinion, It would at least be a step in the right direction. Sometimes people sicken me.

 My Friday Joint.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I seem to be in a bit of a mood tonight, I only worked until noon today, then I stopped at the casino with some friends afterwards they drank a couple of beers and I choose plain ol pepsi cola. its been one of those days I suppose where nothing seems to be keeping my attention for long, I came home and wrote and posted a new piece for Crows Crossing Road, and started on another episode for the Demon Chronicles. but I shelved it all for now, I'm restless tonight, stuck somewhere between Sleep and Boredom, so maybe I'll just hang out here in the Tomb and listen to some music for awhile. just mellowing out here on the Banks of the Stream..
