Echoes From The Tomb.

 Fried Green Computers!!!

Your never truly appreciate your computer until you are forced to work on yours all by your lonesome.. I came home tonight from work and turned on the trusty ol Gateway and Pow!! First that god awful coffee grinder noise then absolutely NOTHING AT ALL!! Well my heart sank into my stomach as I thought I’d lost my baby, So I bravely opened it up and set forth to removing the power supply.. Man there were wires and gizmos everywhere! But I gamely and slowly, and carefully disconnected each one and Mark them as to where each one went.. Took the old one to Office depot and no one knew anything except they didn’t have what I was looking for.. So I peddled my rear end off all the way up to best buy. Purchased a brand new power supply not knowing if my baby was still alive or not. The kid in the store even reassured me, that the new P.S had all of the instructions that I needed to do a successful reinstall step by step.. So when I got home and opened the box what did the instructions say?.. Turn off computer.. Remove old power supply and install new one.. Yeah well if its one thing that this old dragons got is a ton of determination. So the new set up of wires first off, looked absolutely nothing like the old wiring harness.. So I carefully traced all of the proper connectors to where I took connectors that looked the same off, and hooked up the new ones, I slide the box up into the back of the PC and screwed it into place, lastly hooking up the power cord and reconnecting all of the peripherals, I crossed my fingers hit the button and Thankfully my Baby purred back to life and now is running as quietly as a church mouse. So far so good.. I never realized just how much I love this little gray box…. I need to relax for a bit and take a shower I’ll check back in with ya’s before I go to bed.. Later my friends!!

 Saturday Night Buzz Cuts. #2

Well, true to my word I did test out Dizzler, and it has a few drawbacks to say the least, but over all, I’ll say it has potential, it CAN be used as a stand alone on demand player for single songs, or you can personalize and build a play list, but it does have playability issues, and the buttons are rather small, and you can easily save unwanted songs unintentionally. Over all I’ll give it a C-, but I’ll stick to Fine tune. And as for Saturday night Mr P won’t be able to make it.. Uhhh. Lets just say he COULDN’T stay away from the clam dip. These are just a few of my Favorite songs.. Hope you all like the list, and as usual the Chatroom is one post down stop by and say howdy.

 Pieces of a Friday.

Christopher Michael Benoit (IPA: (May 21, 1967 – June 24, 2007) was a Canadian-American professional wrestler who performed in Extreme Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, and World Wrestling Entertainment. He was regarded as one of the best technical wrestlers in his time.
On June 25, 2007, Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their 7-year-old son Daniel were found dead in their Fayetteville, Georgia home. Subsequent investigations have confirmed that Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son and then hanged himself.
~From Wikipedia~

Although They are saying that it hasn’t been confirmed that Benoit was on Steroids, they did find some sort of a prescription for them, so well, if it quacks like a duck.. You know. Its also been reported that Benoit and his wife Nancy, had been arguing over the care of their 7 year old son, and while she wasn’t telling him to quit wrestling, she did want him to spend more time at home.. I saw Chris Benoit early on and then again much later in his Career, and it always seemed as though he was always troubled in some way or another, the man’s eyes never looked right to me.. The eyes never lie. This is so sad.

California Wildfire..

By Associated Press
MEYERS, Calif. (AP) - Firefighters were warned Wednesday that strong afternoon wind could again stoke the turbulent wildfire near Lake Tahoe and would threaten their safety, a day after a flare-up forced thousands of residents to flee.

Fire officials had believed they had a handle on the eastern edge of the blaze, which has destroyed nearly 200 homes at the south end of the scenic alpine lake. But a large gust Tuesday afternoon forced firefighters off the line they had been holding for more than a day.

That surge briefly trapped two firefighters and forced the evacuation of a 300-home subdivision.

Wind was expected to gust slightly higher Wednesday afternoon than it did Tuesday, reaching speeds up to 35 mph, National Weather Service forecaster Jim Wallmann said.

"It really is hard to predict what these winds are going to do," said Kelly Martin, a fire behavior analyst who addressed hundreds of firefighters from across the state at a pre-dawn briefing Wednesday.

As she spoke at the Heavenly Ski Resort, dense smoke started to filter in from the fire just to the west.

Officials acknowledged that more homes, including some in the most affluent waterfront neighborhoods, could be threatened Wednesday.

Several officials at the briefing said the wind could also present a danger to firefighters themselves.

At one point Tuesday, authorities said the danger to homes had diminished as the wind abated, but by Tuesday evening the blaze that started Sunday had charred more than 3,000 acres - about 4.7 square miles - and was only 44 percent contained, fire officials said.

Containment is not expected before next Tuesday, said Rich Hawkins, a Forest Service fire commander.

Tuesday's flare-up occurred in an area where firefighters had set a backfire to keep the main blaze from reaching more houses. The gust blew embers across the fire line and started new spot fires, Hawkins said.

The blaze moved so quickly that two firefighters were forced to deploy their emergency shelters. They were missing for nearly an hour, but walked away uninjured, Hawkins said.

Without the tent-like shelters, the men would have died, Hawkins said.

About 2,000 people evacuated, according to South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Martin Hale.

Investigators have located the fire's point of origin, near the popular Seneca Pond recreation area, and are close to identifying its cause, Forest Service spokeswoman Beth Brady said. Authorities have said they believe it was caused by human activity, but there was no indication it was intentional.

The forest is so dry that a discarded cigarette butt or match could easily have ignited the fire, Brady said. The area was also dotted with the remnants of illegal campfires, she said.

Many homeowners got their first look at the wildfire's destruction Tuesday, finding some houses reduced to charred ruins and others largely unscathed, except for the odor of smoke and a blanket of ash.

Concerned about looting, dozens of sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol officers patrolled the burned neighborhoods, and only people who lived in the area were allowed in.

"I didn't save hardly anything in the house," said retired firefighter John Hartzell, who lost his home of 20 years. Along with his wife, adult son and daughter, he sorted through the rubble in search of any mementos.

"I got out with the clothes on my back, my fire coat and my helmet," he said.

Elsewhere, arson has been blamed for a wildfire in western South Dakota that has blacked about 3.5 square miles in Custer State Park, said Joe Lowe, state wildland fire coordinator. The blaze was about two-thirds contained late Tuesday.

Custer State Park remained open but a campground and a lodge had been evacuated, disrupting the vacation plans of hundreds of visitors.

The Fire In Meyers isn’t far from here, we’ve been through this before in our area, so I feel for these people.. A few years ago a wildfire scorched the whole mountain side just above Carson City and a few people even lost their homes.. Fire season is the most dangerous time of year.. Y’all stay safe.. See ya’s later

 Thursday Night Live Jam

Alvin Lee (born December 19, 1944 in Nottingham, England) is an English guitarist. He began playing guitar at the age of thirteen, and with Leo Lyons formed the core of the band Ten Years After in 1960. Originally influenced by his parent's collection of jazz and blues records, it was the advent of rock and roll that truly sparked his interest and creativity, and guitarists like Chuck Berry and Scotty Moore provided his inspiration.
The Jaybirds, as Lee's early band was called from 1962, were popular locally, and had success at Star Club in Hamburg, Germany (since that time lead guitarist Lee also took lead vocals), following The Beatles there the same year. But it was not until the band moved to London in 1966 and changed its name, first to Jaybird, dropping 'The' and 's' to make it sound more contemporary, then to Blues Yard (for one gig at the legendary Marquee Club) and finally to Ten Years After (TYA) that international success beckoned. The band secured a residency at the Marquee, and an invitation to the famous Windsor Jazz & Blues Festival in 1967 led to their first recording contract. The self titled debut album surprisingly received play on San Francisco, California's underground radio stations and was enthusiastically embraced by listeners, including concert promoter Bill Graham, who invited the band to tour the United States for the first time in the summer of 1968. Audiences were immediately taken by Lee's distinctive, soulful, rapid fire guitar playing and the band's innovative mix of blues, swing jazz and rock, and an American love affair began. TYA would ultimately tour the U.S. twenty-eight times in seven years, more than any other UK band.
Appearing at the Woodstock Festival, Lee's performance was captured on film in the documentary of the festival and his playing helped catapult him into stardom, and soon the band was playing arenas and stadiums around the globe. Although Lee later lamented that he missed the intimacy of smaller venues, there is no denying the impact the film made in bringing his music to a worldwide audience.

Alvin Lee and Ten Years After’s music Just always Seemed so Raw and Ballsy to me, aside from the commercial success of I’d love to change the world, this tune here as well as a couple of others from their live albums is what sealed the deal for me. I have been a fan every since and will continue to be one for a long time coming… hope everyone had a great week!!
