Echoes From The Tomb.

 What do Animals Really See?

I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep, I probably crashed around 3:30 am this morning pacific time, and was awake by 8:00 am, naturally, I couldn’t get back top sleep, so I was out late this morning paying some bills and this is where my weird week seemed to pick up right where it left off. I stopped at a little place called Ross Gold Park, and sat down on a bench to drink a bottle of water and rest my legs. This is where it got strange, this stray dog comes walking up all friendly like, ( a black lab I think.) wagging its tail, letting me scratch behind its ears, then out of the blue it sort of just cocked its head to one side, and stared up into another direction away from me, and started whining, and then the whining turned to growling and soon outright barking. There wasn’t anyone or anything there except the dog and me, so it quickly became a WTF moment. Well needless to say it didn’t take me long to finish the bottle of water and get on my way, and the dog started following me away from the park but lost interest and went on its way as well.

But it did get me to thinking, I often wondered about all of the times when my cat used to weird out on me, I can recall several times late at night usually, when I would be lying around just sort of hanging out watching the news or whatever, and Geisha would climb up on the back of the sofa, nothing at first, but then she would arch her back as cats often do and begin to hiss and snarl at thin air. This didn’t happen just once, it happened several times, even once I recall trying to get up when she did this and she jumped onto my chest almost knocking me back down. She never tried to hurt me but just out of the blue would start staring and hissing and there wasn’t anything that I could see that was there. I have often heard that animals see things that we can’t, and that their senses concerning things outside of the physical realm is far more acute than our own. Its not that any such things scare me in any way, people still think I’m crazy but I have had wide awake visits from my mother so I don’t rule out the possibility that I have something following me around, But what I don’t understand is if I can see my mother when she decides to pop in, why can’t I see whatever those animals saw?. I’ll be glad when tomorrow gets here, my week of weird and strangeness will officially be over.. Let the weekend begin.

 Writing The Graveyard Shift.

Every once in awhile, I find myself in the middle of one of those odd weeks. Not strange by any means, but just a little bit out of whack as compared to a normal week. Even every day at work people around me just sort of seemed to be off a little all this week. I put in my ten and a half hours and come home to watch television, but just couldn’t get into anything computer related, I would go to log in and get sidetracked with something else and just never get back to it. I think that the only reason that I am on right now is I just can’t sleep for whatever reason, to be honest it kinda feels like when I first started blogging back in 05, It was cool because I was usually up late at night when just a handful of people were online, it felt like I was working the graveyard shift, that seemed to be when I wrote my best stuff. Nothing is coming easy tonight though, I could chalk it up to just another post that got derailed somewhere along the line, but it was never really about anything in particular to begin with, just another one of my babblings I suppose. Ahh well. Tomorrow will be another day.

 Bad For The Good..

Imagine living in a hundred years of peace, quiet and tranquility, no war, no internal or external strife, a nation, a world, without turmoil or struggle. Lofty idealism at its finest, a world where only good exists, where the hero would be waiting in the wings in the slight chance that even the smallest of problems should arise, they could swoop in at a moments notice and crush the problem before it started. Well you can imagine it, but it will never happen. Call me a realist, but the world will always have as many bad guys as it has good ones. But see, here’s where it gets tricky, bad guys can serve a useful purpose too, try to follow my logic here, they keep us on our toes, they keep our guards up, and without at the very least, the threat of danger, we could easily become complacent, and complacent people make easy targets, so in that regard perhaps, they do serve a healthy purpose. We do tend to let our guards down too much, we become too trusting of others with veiled intentions, and we end up with a whole lot of Pearl Harbor and 911 type of scenarios, simply because we want to see the good in people, and our fearless leaders, through ignorance or arrogance, choose to ignore the warning signs that not everyone on this planet has our best interests in mind. News flash, there is no perfect world, there are bad people here that will always want to do us harm, they have been here just as long as us, and in many cases, even longer. There will always be bad for every good, wrong for every right, evil has been here for centuries, and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere, anytime soon. So I guess for the time being, don’t let down your guard just yet, keep the faith, and don’t ever forget about the past. For me at least, it seems that the biggest difference between good and bad is knowing the difference between the two, and choosing the right path.
