Echoes From The Tomb.

Clean water Blues.. (Or Is it Brown?)

Air, water and good ol mother earth, life’s blood, clean air to breath should equal clean lungs to breathe with, less toxins in our water supply means cleaner tap water coming through our faucets for our consumption. Now, to me, my tap water tastes, well, downright nasty if I don’t run it through a water filter first. When I was a kid I don’t remember ever having to drink water out of bottle, or having to run it through a purification system before it was clean enough to drink. Recently, I bought a Pur water filter system so I could stomach actually drinking the tap water here, I did a test right after I purchased the system. I took a glass of water before using the filter, and another clear glass after I put the filter on the tap in the kitchen. I held both glasses up to the light and the before glass was not brown or anything but you could definitely see something floating around in it. And the glass that I filled through the water filter was clear as a bell. so there is definitely a huge difference. Now I have to do something for the shower, for the past two days I have had to let the shower run for at least five minutes because I detected a bit of dirt from the lines when I first turned it on. of course it disappeared after four or five minutes, but I now have a eye on a filtering system that runs through the shower head. Oh the things that I do for cleaner feeling skin and better tasting coffee. I hope that everyone is having a great week!
Catch you laters.

Hot Coffee and the attack of the Cutey Cats.

To the best of my knowledge, there is absolutely nothing better than waking up to the smell of piping hot freshly brewed Coffee on Sunday Mornings.. I don’t know why it is but it always seems to be the laziest feeling day of the week. This morning I did the usual, got up, stretched, wiped my eyes with cold water, and poured on the Coffee, and then headed for the balcony where I watched the sparse traffic flow along Fifth Street. until it started to get too cold to stay out there . So I came back inside to find that I had accidentally left the door open , and had been invaded.. Not aliens mind you but the little guys tried in vain to overwhelm me with their cuteness.

Okay Guys… time to move your furry little behinds out of the way.. I have to get started on my second pot of coffee, and pretty soon NFL Countdown will be on ESPN… Okay Guys.. I see your not moving.. Well that’s ok I guess, after all I have other mugs to drink from. So.. Do you guys like Football?

Huh? What’s this now? Oh man!.. this is Sooooo Not Fair!.. Ummm. Guys about that coffee and Football.. I think I just came across something. (Or rather Someone.) that is just as good as coffee.. Ummm. Upon closer inspection of the subject.. I think I am changing my mind here.. This isn’t just as good.. She’s better. Guys? I think I’m gonna need a minute or two here. Have a great Sunday.

 Reaching for the brass ring.

I don't always Explain what I am thinking as clear as I would like, but here I go again, Trying is still free. see the thing is, lately I have noticed that some of the most interesting things happen right after I get off of work, and they usually happen at Wal Mart or some other such place where people of all walks of life seem to congregate. I have learned a lot by simply watching people, How they interact with and around strangers, and how they act in public. And there are a lot of unhappy people around here. Wait a minute. Back up, let me pour myself a cup of Starbucks and chew on this for a minute. Ok, that’s enough chewing. I have reached the conclusion that most people in the population at large wouldn’t know happiness if it walked up and bit them on the butt. Wait, let me tell you how I got there. Strictly for the sake of argument, lets leave the poor people out of this picture, for the moment at least, and concentrate on the other two types of people that I noticed. One Being, the people who seem to have everything and constantly find themselves wanting, craving and or demanding more. The other being, the people who have enough, but can never seem to have enough.

See, before anyone starts to think that I’m just spouting off, let me just say that I know first hand, people in the very positions of which I speak.. Lets take Joe Blow Jones.. He’s Got the perfect house, the fancy cars, the high paying job.. Etc.. Etc.. Etc.. so what’s his beef? Joe is so caught up in his material possessions that he’s forgotten how to just relax and enjoy life. His greed for more and more material wealth, has become all encompassing, and misery has become his life. He worries about losing what he has so he is constantly looking for the bigger and better deal. And it doesn’t matter to Joe who he has to step all over to get the brass ring that he believes so defines his life. Ok Now move down the food chain for a minute and right below Joe is John Blow Smith. Now John doesn’t have quite as much as Joe does, but he still has much more than the average American who is busting their hump to scrape by everyday. He has a nice house, He has a nice car and a beautiful wife but can’t seem to enjoy any of it. More. More. More. The common thread that will tie Joe and John together forever is their misery. They seem to have everything and yet have nothing. Both unknowing victims of the perception that The more you have the more you need. Greed is good.

See now Let me get away from those guys.. It could be contagious, and I don’t want to be come infected. See.. I never had much. I always worked hard enough to earn enough money to maybe not get Everything that I ever wanted, but I think that I have everything that I really need. Most importantly a good perspective. Ok Joe.. John.. Lay off of your obsessions with material wealth for a minute and let me take you on a little trip if you will. It won’t cost either of you a single penny, and it will only take a moment of your precious time. Close your eyes and listen to my voice. Its in the middle of July, your baking in the summer heat, and when you open your eyes your standing on the beach at Lake Tahoe Nevada. And as you slowly approach the water you can almost taste it’s cold refreshing waves as they lap at your feet. Slowly now, wade in and let it consume you, until you are totally lost under water. And when you finally resurface you can feel the suns warmth reflecting off of your skin.

Catch your breath.. Ready? Close your eyes again. You hear that sound? Do you smell that?. Damn.. My favorite time of year. Fall.. Leaves shedding from the trees.. everything is golden brown.. There’s a bunch of kids piling up leaves on old man nesters front lawn while he sits on the front porch watching them like a proud Grandpa. You can hear them all giggling and laughing, as they line up single file to take the plunge. You ever do that when you were a kid? Have You ever done Anything that didn’t involve money. Roast marshmallows or hotdogs over an open flame?.. Have you ever told ghost stories around a campfire and end up scaring yourself and everyone else silly? have you ever been camping or fishing in the woods and woke up in the morning in a sleeping bag covered in dew? I could go on with this forever but I won’t, but see there is an old saying that I recall hearing as a child that stuck with me that says “one mans curse is another mans blessing” the world is full of blessings that don’t involve having that competitive edge that you think you need, it doesn’t involve material wealth or money, see, it isn’t difficult to be truly blessed in this life, all you need to do is to learn to look past what you perceive to be important, and embrace what truly is..

 Checking in to say Hello.

Well, I think that I have finally figured out how to get through a whole week without hitting the skids.. I skipped Monday this week and that seems to be doing the Trick. So far Nothing really bad has happened, its been slow and steady and very mellow. Just the way I like it. There are however still a few family Matters that I haven’t figured out yet I’m doing pretty well so far. This weekend I’m going to break out the pots and pans and start cooking dinner at home again starting with Friday night. Spaghetti with Mushroom caps stuffed with wild rice and Ground Italian sausage. A little toasted garlic bread on the side. Yummo. After that I plan on hitting the theatre again sometime this weekend, Maybe the new Resident Evil Movie, (The storyline Intrigues me.) or whatever else is playing. But so far R.E is the Target. Well Just checking in for now, and I’m gonna surf for awhile before bed. See ya’s all this weekend.

Nighty Night.
